The Franklin County Fair has announced the Entertainment line-up for August 2020. Among the acts this year:
The 80's Rock Tour Featuring the original voice of Foreigner: Lou Gramm, as well as Journey's Former Lead Singer Steve Augeri, and ASIA's former front man John
Payne. They will be playing hits of Foreigner, Journey & Asia. Tickets are $25 for Grandstand seating, $35 for Center Grandstand Seating, and $50 for track seating which includes gate admission.

The Potsdam Snack Pack Program helps over 300 students with healthy snacks on the weekends and during holiday breaks. Over 19,000 actual snack packs are been sent out to date. The cost to provide these healthy snacks to students in need works out to about $100 per year. The Potsdam Snack Pack program is constantly seeking volunteers to help pack the snacks, and also continuously accepts donations of snacks or monetary donation to offset the cost of the snack packs. The Potsdam Kiwanis Club is collecting returnable bottles and cans as a fundraiser to purchase children’s books for the Head Start Reading Programs at Potsdam and Parishville School Districts. If you would like to contribute, you can donate your redemption amount into a special account at CJ’s Bottle and Can Retrieval Center in the Sea Comm Plaza in Potsdam. You can also mail in donations to the Potsdam Kiwanis Club P.O. Box 793 in Potsdam.
The Potsdam Elks Lodge will host their annual Hockey Shoot at 3 pm on Monday, February 17th at the Pine Street Arena. This event is open to any youth age 13 and under. It is free and every registered shooter will receive a t-shirt. The top 3 contestants in each category will receive a prize. No hockey experience is required. Parental permission is required. A team from St. Lawrence Health System will present an informational panel dinner on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at the Best Western University Inn in Canton. The Canton 1st Presbyterian Church on the Park will be holding a Ham Dinner on Sunday, February 23 from 11am – 1:30pm. Menu includes Ham, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, assorted pies and beverage. The Potsdam Elks Lodge is helping the Potsdam Central RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) group collect candy bars from now through the month of February. Candy bars can be dropped off at locations including Potsdam Dollar General, Potsdam Save A Lot, the Colton Amvets, Kinney Drugs on Maple Street in Potsdam, the Potsdam Elks Lodge, and the B993 / Star Country studios. Monetary donations for the purchase of candy bars can be dropped off at the Potsdam Elks Lodge. Collected candy bars will be taken to the Fort Drum USO for returning soldiers, redeploying soldiers, and active duty service members.
The North Lawrence Fire & EMS Winter Demo Derby will be held on Saturday, March 7th at the Ball Field on Church Street. Registration will be from 9-11 with a cost of $25 per car.
